What are the Muslim's believes about Islamic Dream Interpretation?

In Islam, Interpretation of dreams means to analyze past and future situations. There are three types of Islamic dream interpretation: A good dream which is from Allah; the evil dream from the satan and one's own thinking from Nafs.

These can be interpreted in the light of the Qur'an or in the light of the Sunnah, or by names and metaphors, or by means of the proverbs that are current among people, or in terms of opposites. The first written record of dream interpretation dates back to 1350 BCE leads us back to ancient Egypt.
Islamic dream interpretation falls into various categories.

Interpretation in the light of the Qur'an

In chapter 12 Quran entitled “Joseph” begins with a dream, and ends with the dream’s interpretation. At the time of Prophet Joseph, dream interpretation was very important.

Interpretation in the light of the Sunnah

The crow represents an immoral man (faasiq), because the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) called it such.
(Narrated by Muslim, 5864) Ibn Hajar said:

Good dreams

About good dreams, we may say three things:
  • A person should praise Allah for the good dream
  • He should feel happy about it
  • He should talk about it to those whom he loves but not to those whom he dislikes.

Bad dreams

About bad dreams, we may say four things:
  • He should seek refuge with Allah from the evil of the dream
  • He should seek refuge with Allah from the evil of the Shaytaan
  • He should spit to his left three times when he wakes up
  • He should not mention it to anyone at all.
